Harris and Tabor suspended by Gators
Gators coach Jim McElwain announced the one-game suspensions on Wednesday but didn’t specify a reason other than to say he based the decision on “some choices they made”.

Harris started Florida’s opener this season and has played in two games, completing 19 of 27 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns. “It hurts. We have a lot of guys who [care] about this team”.
Without Harris, redshirt freshman Will Grier will start against the Volunteers (2-1) and get a chance to play the entire game, the first time this season he hasn’t been looking over his shoulder. Wilson made his first start of 2015 against Kentucky, and sealed the game with an interception.
With Harris sidelined, McElwain told reporters that Grier will have “an opportunity to run the ship”. Without Harris, Florida’s lone scholarship quarterback behind Grier is graduate transfer Josh Grady, who has as many catches as pass attempts (one of each) in 2015.
They are the fourth and fifth Florida players suspended this season, joining defensive end Alex McCalister, receiver Latroy Pittman and safety Marcus Maye. “I anticipate everyone to be available and ready to play, but it’s a practice-by-pracitce and hour-by-hour situation when you head out onto the practice field starting today”. He had perhaps the rivalry’s biggest play past year when he sacked Vols quarterback Justin Worley, knocked away the ball and recovered the fumble to spark a 10-9 comeback win. He returned an interception for a touchdown in a win over East Carolina. Harris replaced Jeff Driskel in that game and took over the job from there, helping the Gators to bowl eligibility.
