Ohio to host one of three presidential debates in 2016
Wright State University has been selected to host the debate, scheduled for Monday, September 26, 2016, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced on Wednesday. The commission chose four sites from among 16 schools and cities that asked to be hosts.

“With this exciting announcement, Wright State has an opportunity to showcase everything it has to offer”, he said.
The CPD is a nonprofit, nonpartisan corporation and has sponsored all general election presidential and vice presidential debates since 1988.
Longwood will hold the first and only vice presidential debate on October. “This is a huge win for all of us”.
Chancellor Mark Wrighton said several factors played in Washington University’s favor, including its central US location and its track record in successfully carrying out debates. “Critical thinking and open discussion empower our students and our communities with knowledge and perspective that helps move us all forward”.
The Nutter Center has a history of playing a significant role in presidential politics.
Ohio will also host the Republican National Convention next July at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
The other three general election debates will be held in Virginia, Missouri and Nevada.
The decision was made by the Commission on Presidential Debates, a non-profit organization.
Ohio is the nation’s leading bellwether in presidential elections; the Buckeye State has backed the victor in every race except two (1944, 1960) since 1900.

The remaining debates would take place on Oct. 4 at Longwood University in Farmville, Va., on Oct. 9 at Washington University in St. Louis, and Oct. 19 at the University of Las Vegas.
