Airplane makes emergency landing on city street
Luckily the pilot had a green light as he barreled through the intersection, and the other Orange County drivers react with seemingly normalcy to the sudden aerial arrival, continuing the flow of traffic as normal.

The amazed driver can be heard saying: “You kidding me?” as the plane races back out of view.
This is the freakish moment a small plane made an emergency landing on a busy junction during rush hour – much to the surprise of the road users who witnessed it. The aircraft was a Piper Cherokee, which was originally planning to land at the nearby John Wayne Airport about 6:18 p.m. September 16. It’s a terrifying kind of thrill, seeing a pilot safely land a plane in spite of inclement weather or faulty equipment, but nothing gets the blood rushing quite like an unplanned landing in the middle of traffic.
The plane, which was carrying an instructor and student pilot from Orange Coast College (OCC), was also undamaged in the landing.

“It was insane watching the fire trucks and police officers swarm to the scene after the plane had landed”. OOC Dean of Technology Daniel Schrader said the plane’s engine failed.
