Sam Smith’s Bond ballad released

Sam Smith has finally debuted his track Writing’s On The Wall after weeks of excitement and it’s certainly attracted a HUGE reaction on social media (people totally love Bond). “For you I have to risk it all, ’cause the writing’s on the wall“, he sings on the chorus, sounding like a man resigned to his fate.

22 best and worst Bond theme songs ranked: Every single’s here, but which are classics and which need their 00 status revoked? I just thought, how incredible that would be for him, and for the family and stuff, to do that theme song.

“I don’t think it’s a number one friendly song. I got called into the office with Barbara Broccoli and Sam Mendes and they gave me the script, I read the script… they said, “Have a go at the song”. Do not cut, copy or lift any content from this website without our consent.

But the British crooner, who always wears his heart on his sleeve, can’t help fiddling with the theme of being lovesick. Nope-but if we find ourselves with a more introspective, emotional Bond come November, don’t say Sam Smith didn’t warn you. “That’s kind of what we were aiming for”.

Be warned, particularly if you’re a Smith fan – it’s pretty rough! Check out the trailer to see if the song matches the movie. Smith described his lyrics to NPR.

“Ladies & Gentleman, here it is”, Smith tweeted on Thursday night. “About 20 minutes”, he revealed.
