Snapdragon 820 set to give Galaxy S7 a big power boost
As reported by G for Games, the upcoming new LG flagship device, dubbed the LG G5, will be running under Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful chipset yet-the Snapdragon 820. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset and has a stunning 16-megapixel back shutter and 8-megapixel selfie-taker. Since Qualcomm isn’t likely to bring out any new chipset at least before the holiday season next year, the G5 could be on par with its rivals as far as performance goes. However, because of the thermal overheating problems of the SD 810 chip, LG made a decision to power the LG G4 with Snapdragon 808.

Moving on to the other main rumor, the camera. Speaking of LG, the company has been widely praised for the G3 and the G4, both devices which offer excellent performance with little to no issues.
The LG G5 is also rumored to sport a Sony a half-inch sensor, similar to Sony’s 20 megapixel sensors in Motorola’s latest flagship smartphones. According to the source, it would also feature a custom 1/2-inch Sony sensor, as opposed to an off-the-shelf component found in other smartphones. LG’s flagship smartphone is known for its special focus on the camera, with LG having gone as far as to have the device tested by professional photographers to prove its point.
The source of the info has a pretty impressive track record with past leaks, so there are chances that he could be right on the mark with the rumor.
