Supermarkets are told to keep the daffodils (a yellow flower) away from the fruits and veg.

It’s reported that the supermarkets are asked to keep the flower away from the fruits and vegetables in a bid to prevent customers mistakenly eating the plants.

Eating the plant may cause vomiting and diarrhoea.

Not only this, it can even cause irritation to the mouth and throat for almost 24 hours – said by the British Columbia Drug and Poison Information Centre.

A spokesman from the authority said that there were several scenes of mistaking the flowers with onions and leaves with vegetable popular in China.
