Although he doesn’t think he’ll have a sea of teenage girls to catch him this time – and Phillip jokes that he’s got his hips to worry about nowadays too, cheeky!

It’s been nearly 40 years since we’ve seen the Scotland pop band Bay City Rollers top the charts, but they’re officially making their comeback!

The BCR’s have hinted that the beginning of the reunion will begin taking place in December with a new album and a comeback show at the Barrowlands in Glasgow.

“Stuff happened but we’ve put it in the past and will leave it in the past, and we’ve had time to talk to each other as grownups”.

The original line-up also included Eric Faulkner and Derek Longmuir who, along with his brother Alan are credited with forming the band.

He added: “Derek is just not interested, he’s been a cardiology nurse for 28 years, he’s changed his career completely”.

McKeown and Stuart had a lengendary on stage fight, something they’ll reference in the new show. They were the 70’s version of One Direction back in the day.

He added: “When we look at the reality, we say to ourselves jokingly that we’re doing it for the money but deep down we’re doing it for the fans, the glory of Scotland and the glory of the tartan”.

“But it’s not something you can’t get over, especially when there’s huge amounts of money involved!”

The band are expected to play a number of shows at the Barrowland with plans for a larger tour to be announced later.

McKeown, who until now has been touring with Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers, has secretly recorded an album’s worth of material due for release in the coming months.
