But U-W official announced today that Clement is scheduled to have Sports Hernia surgery next week and could miss four to fix weeks of the Big Ten Conference season.

Clement has missed the Badgers’ last two games after playing sparingly against Alabama in the season opener. “He has been undergoing treatment since that time and seen some progress but not to the point where our medical staff is satisfied”.

“Bummed. I’ve got to get the surgery and do what it takes to get back on the field”, Clement said Thursday at Camp Randall Stadium.

Clement did make an appearance in the opening game against Alabama, however, his output was not all that good.

For the last week, Clement had been targeting the Big Ten opener against Iowa on October. 3 for his return from a groin injury that hampered him in the beginning of the season. Me being so hard headed, I just tried to give it what I could.

Clement practiced Monday. He was supposed to return for the Badgers’ game Saturday night’ against Hawaii. Against Troy, the 6’1, 220-pound Deal rushed for 84 yards on 16 carries in an overall better effort by a Wisconsin running game gaining 199 yards against the Trojans.

Under NCAA rules, Clement could file for and be granted a medical hardship redshirt because he played less than half a season.

The Wisconsin Badgers basketball team will open up their conference schedule at home December 29th against Purdue, after the Big Ten basketball schedule was released Thursday evening. Wisconsin is breaking in three new starters on the line this season, and it showed against Alabama, when the Badgers rushed for 40 yards on 21 carries – an average of 1.9 yards per attempt.

-Alec Inglold was moved from running back to inside linebacker. Clement has sat out the last two games. He has not played for Wisconsin since, and now we know why. But he had over, 1,000 yards rushing as a quarterback so maybe he can do both. “That’s when I knew something was up, and I needed to get it really checked out”.
