Brendan Rodgers admits his future as Liverpool manager is in doubt
Adam Bogdan says he “got lucky” after the Liverpool backup goalkeeper’s penalty shootout heroics saved manager Brendan Rodgers’ blushes by sending the Merseysiders past fourth tier Carlisle United in the League Cup on Wednesday. He has also said he is not concerned about reports linking former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti with his position as “speculation” is normal in big clubs when the team is are not winning.

McAllister has also suggested that Liverpool’s players need to show they can handle the pressure of playing for a club who are expected to win trophies, yet have lifted just one in the last nine years and none in Rodgers’ reign.
Brendan Rodgers faced the press for the first time since Liverpool scraped past League two side Carlisle in the Capital One Cup.
“You can take the West Brom game out of that”.
I’m never complacent enough to think my job has never been [in danger]. And with managers of the reputation of the three-time Champions League victor as well as Jurgen Klopp and recently departed Borussia Monchengladbach coach Lucien Favre on the market, the pressure only weighs heavier on Rodgers’ shoulders. I’ve got an inherent belief in what I do but I don’t shy away from the fact that you need to get results and be performing well to try and stay and work. It doesn’t frighten me. Manchester City ultimately won the title by two points. I know it won’t be 20 years at Liverpool but while I am here I want to fight for the club and the players. One win and we’re back around top four.
“I want to ensure I’m going to be here for a long period”.
LONDON, Aston Villa would have demanded much more money for Christian Benteke if they could have predicted his form in the second half of last season, manager Tim Sherwood said ahead of their visit to the injured striker’s new club Liverpool on Saturday.
“I’ve loved every minute of it here and I hope that continues”.
The manager is struggling with a lengthening injury list, as captain Jordan Henderson will be out until November after breaking a bone in his foot.
“And Dejan Lovren will be out for probably a few weeks with his ligament injury”.
“It is something I focus on with the team”.

While it should come to no surprise that Dejan Lovren, who was stretchered off the pitch will be missing the game against Aston Villa, further bad news has come out about Roberto Firmino’s injury.
