Man charged over assault on woman in AFL

Yarran will appear in court again on October 5.
The global sports fraternity is in shock and disgusted after the video of a drunk male punching a mother in front of her children at an AFL game in Australia went viral.
Yarran’s girlfriend, Brianna, stood outside of the court and told reporters that he had been attempting to leave the stadium when the victim ‘got in his face, ‘ so he ‘pushed her and everyone else just mauled him’.
“With the exception of these instances the majority of fans passionately supported their teams in one of the most exciting and loud final’s atmospheres ever experienced at the stadium”.
The incidents only serve to further damage the reputation of local crowds who made headlines this year when Sydney champion Adam Goodes was booed loudly at a West Coast game in round 17 and then again by a smaller section of the crowd during the qualifying final against Fremantle.
It was not the only incident on a disappointing night, with Hawks players Isaac Smith and Luke Breust also involved in close calls with over-excited fans.
A Fremantle fan shaped up as if to strike Smithwith his right hand after the midfielder approached the fence.
