In the most heavily-scripted appearance as a caped crusader since Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses, Fury stunned Klitschko with his grand entrance to promote their world heavyweight title fight in Dusseldorf next month.

Fury prompted plenty of publicity earlier this week by arriving at a pre-fight press conference dressed as Batman.

The room of reporters in London was pleasantly bemused as Fury jogged through the door, ran a lap around the crowd and then took his seat at the table, preparing to discuss his upcoming October 24 fight against Wladimir Klitschko.

There was a promise from Fury of “more fun and games to come in fight week” and that’s what was confirmed as they went their separate ways for the time being.

The fight is set to be rescheduled for late November at the Espirit Arena in Dusseldorf with the exact date to be confirmed next week.

“I have got to take it as being a genuine injury because they have been absolutely ideal with us, but it’s just disappointing and it’s a setback”, he added.

Fury told Sky Sports: “All my supporters and fans – they always lose out”.

He said: “Especially after the exciting press conference last Wednesday, I was looking forward to this fight very much”. “I’m as confident of winning as waking up in the morning and putting my shoes on”, said Fury. It’s alright for us, we’re in training camps and get the money back, but what about all the people that had paid for flights and hotels?

This development will certainly enrage Fury, who has recently had two bouts with David Haye called off due to injuries sustained by Haye. The tickets which have already been sold will remain valid.
