Pebble’s new smartwatch, the Pebble Time Round, will land this November

Watchmaker Citizen even claims that 90 percent of the watches it sells have round faces.

It remains unclear why Pebble chose to incorporate a small battery in the new watch; whether or not it was a tactical decision, only time would tell. Additionally, it is being referred to as the thinnest and the lightest smartwatch to present day.

World known smartwatch producer Pebble exposed a new Pebble smartwatch titled the Pebble Time Round just today while it acquired quite a lot of ohs and ahs from on the net lookers and lovers as well.

But that fact isn’t stopping smartwatch makers from trying to fit square pegs into round holes. The Time Round is only expected to last for two days before requiring to be charged, eight days less than its predecessor. In the past this feature has only been available with Pebble smartwatches paired with an Android smartphone, but starting with the Pebble Time Round, that feature will make its way to iOS, as well.

Taking a page from Apple, Motorola, and others, Pebble is offering two different versions of the Time Round, one geared toward a male audience, and one toward a female buyer. Bands are available in 20mm or 14mm and finishes include Black, Silver or a special-edition Rose Gold exclusively for the 14mm band size.

Digital Trends reports that Pebble Time Round is made of “marine-grade” stainless steel, and it has an e-ink display with a LED backlight. “That moment inspired me to work on what became the original Pebble smartwatch”, wrote Pebble co-founder and CEO Eric Migicovsky in a blog post announcing the new wearable.

Pebble also released an SDK enabling developers and partners to bring new and existing Pebble Time apps to the Pebble Time Round screen. Many people will rightly criticize the large bezel, but aside from that, there’s little to complain about with the design here.
