Ridley Scott Says No ‘Alien’ Tie-In Until ‘Prometheus 4′

Cinemablend adds that Ridley Scott confirmed two more follow-up films after “Prometheus 2” during an interview with a German movie website.

Regardless of what happens with that, we’re definitely going to be getting Alien: Paradise Lost at some point in the next couple of years, and its director expanded on the decision to use that title in a recent interview at the United Kingdom premiere of The Martian. It’s exactly the same story. It’s not clear what stage of development that film is at right now, but with Scott’s film having Alien as its lead title, it looks like Blompkamp is still perfecting his untitled film. There hasn’t been much on it as of yet, however it’s just now been revealed that the sequel to Prometheus won’t necessarily be a sequel as such.

“In a way it is ‘Prometheus 2,'” Ridley said.

Though it takes the name of John Milton’s 17th century epic poem, Scott makes it clear that the similarities don’t run to deep. As for Neill Blomkamp’s “Alien 5“, production was pushed back to give way to Scott’s “Prometheus” sequels.
