A crafty kangaroo has avoided police capture after going on the hop
The mystery Aussie marsupial was first spotted in the Dursley area of Gloustershire on Saturday night, as local police issued an “unusual” appeal on Facebook and Twitter for its owner to come forward about 9.30pm (AEST 6.30am on Sunday). “We have found one!”

The Australian marsupial, who has been nicknamed Skippy, was first spotted by a concerned woman in Dursley, Gloucestershire, who showed stunned officers a picture of the four-foot animal.
They later added: “Kangaroo update – we have it cornered “outback” of a house in Woodmancote but no owner identified yet”.
“Officers joined in the hunt and the animal was seen on the Uley Road and in gardens in Blackhills and Stanthill Drive”.
A CLEVER wallaby has remained on the loose for more than 14 hours in the English countryside after outsmarting the police tasked with its recapture.
Gloucestershire police managed to corner the kangaroo just before 10pm BST, but reports indicated that the kangaroo had managed to escape once again just before midnight.
Rich Gillingham, whose garden was searched for the kangaroo, said: “That was one of the most weird evenings of my life”. The most noticeable difference between the animals is size: wallabies reach up to 2ft in height, while kangaroos can reach 8ft.
Some residents suggested it could have been from nearby Hartpury College, which was responsible for a similar incident in 2012.
“The animal may be distressed and they are strong and powerful animals so members of the public are advised not to approach it”.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the animal is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting, incident number 462 of September 26.
