Sam Smith released “Writing’s On the Wall“, the theme song for the new James Bond movie, Spectre. “I have been dreaming of this moment for a long long time”, he wrote.

“If I risk it all / Could you break my fall?” the song continues. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I’m going to be completely honest, I don’t think it will [go to number one].
Others are accusing Smith of plagiarising Earth Song due to one segment of the song which bears a slight similarity to Michael Jackson’s hit. The kind who would impale a bad guy with a nuclear rod and then go home, listen to Stay With Me and maybe cry a little.
He said: “I’m excited for people to hear it and I hope it just does the film and the legacy justice”. Do not cut, copy or lift any content from this website without our consent.
Smith’s die-hard fans were also on social media praising the In The Lonely Hour singer’s attempts.
He explained to The Sun newspaper: “I feel like my music can be very vulnerable and I wanted to have a touch of that with Bond and have him sounding more vulnerable than normal”. The track is awash with cascading orchestration and delicate keys, whilst Smith’s impeccable vocals elegantly glide above the instrumentation, strewn throughout with his effortless falsetto. It’s just a bit… meh. “About 20 minutes”, he revealed.
The big, stringy, epic tune has got James Bond written all over it and celebrities listening in were quick to share their thoughts about it on Twitter.

Adele was the last artist to record a Bond theme and she scored a huge hit with 2012’s Skyfall.
