Kylie had rushed to the rescue when Callum attacked ex-girlfriend Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O’Brien) and many viewers tweeted that they were gripped by the dramatic storyline and praised the actors’ performances.
He continued: “To then be part of the live episode and go out in this way feels like I’m a part of making history, which is awesome and such an honour”.
Katie’s hopefull husband-to-be turned out to be Twitter user @literallyadam, who’d entered a Corrie competition which saw ITV offer viewers the chance to have a message of their choice scrawled on the chalkboard during the landmark live episode.
It comes after the announcement that Coronation Street’s current producer, Stuart Blackburn, will leave the role to work on other drama projects within ITV.
Even though viewers may have seen Callum’s demise coming from a mile away, Ward reckons Callum never thought he’d be knocked down for good. “I’d been hoping someone was going to ask how I was”.
Viewers will also be able to choose the music at the leaving party for Lloyd Mullaney (Craig Charles) and Andrea Beckett (Hayley Tamaddon) in an interactive poll on Facebook and Twitter.
Actress Jo Joyner – who played Tanya – made headlines after she fluffed her lines by calling Ian Beale’s character by the actor’s real name – Adam Woodyatt.
Two weeks before Corrie went live the cast embarked on an intense rehearsal schedule to ensure every second on screen was executed to perfection.
The soap is due to celebrate 60 years of ITV with a live instalment of the soap, beginning at 7.30pm.
The cheeky soap star was, of course, referring to that now ICONIC scene in the EastEnders live episodes from earlier this year.
