Chris Brown: Government blocks U.S. singer from entering the country due to

Singer Chris Brown will reportedly have to cancel his Australia tour scheduled in December, as he has been warned that he may not be allowed to enter the country because of domestic violence conviction.

Posters advertising Brown’s Melbourne concert were targeted by activists protesting the show, and at least one ad was replaced, after a sticker reading “I beat women” appeared on it, in reference to the singer’s 2009 assault on his then-partner.

The singer and his lawyers now have 28 days to explain why he should not be barred from the country.

“Decisions on whether a visa will or will not be issued are made after that timeframe and consideration of the material presented to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection”, Dutton added.

“I can assure you it is something that the minister (for immigration) is looking at” Cash told reporters saying she would recommend a ban.

Two years ago, he argued his year-long stint in domestic violence counselling had helped him understand what he did was wrong.

“I’m clearly not going to pre-empt a decision by the Minister however I can assure you what my recommendation would be”, she said.

Turnbull and former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who was ousted in a leadership coup last week, have devoted greater resources to battling domestic violence after a spate of high profile deaths.

However, Australia isn’t the only country to refuse Chris a visa as Britain, Canada and New Zealand also declined. Chris Brown has been refused entry into Australia, due to his history of domestic violence, The Sydney Morning Herald reported today.

The federal government warned on Friday that the Immigration Minister Peter Dutton could deny Brown a visa on character grounds, because he bashed his the girlfriend, musician Rhianna, in 2009.

Brown is yet to publicly comment on the Australian Government’s notice of intent to deny him a visa.
