Ducks fall out of AP poll for first time since 2009
The Ducks, who use the slogan “Win The Day”, suffered one of the most shocking losses in school history. When the dust settled, Utah hung more points on Oregon than any other team ever has at Autzen Stadium. But Utah found a receiving offense, with Wilson targeting nine different players, including freshmen Caleb Repp and Britain Covey.

“Everything that could go wrong did go wrong”.
All of that came together against the Cougars.
But it was Oregon’s besieged defense that had no solution for Wilson and the rolling Utes, who amassed 530 yards of total offense. He finished 18-of-30 for 227 yards with four touchdowns, along with 100 rushing yards and a TD on the ground.
Jones passed for 288 yards and a couple of touchdowns.
The Sun Devils got a big game from running back Demario Richard.
The Utes pushed the lead to 55-13 when Boobie Hobbs returned a punt 69 yards late in the third quarter.
It was a battle of two defenses early on in the game, with the Utes forcing punts on Oregon’s first three possessions. Helfrich said of Adams during a press conference.
A new nickname might be needed for the Utah football team.
From the looks of it, the Utes integral cog is shaping up to be Wilson.
If they pass those teams, then it would be safe to say that Utah is for real. They’ve quickly gone from trendy playoff pick to 2-2, with an overtime win over Jacksonville State, plus both losses coming in SEC West play. “So I’m really happy with just the overall performance”. They have talent and experience, even if they haven’t totally put it together this season. “Obviously there are some things we need to figure out”.
The Ute’s opened the second half with a six play, 75-yard touchdown drive, and the route was on from there. After the Utes scored to make it 34-13, Byron Marshall was slow to leave the field after returning the ensuing kickoff. Lockie received the longest leash of the three, attempting 13 more passes than Adams.
Was it a case of simply playing perfectly with a bit of luck?
Adams, however, broke his right index finger in the season opener against his former team. “Why would they keep me in?”
Colorado 48, Nicholls 0: Coach Mike MacIntyre’s son, Jay, turned his first collegiate catch into a 38-yard touchdown in the host Buffaloes’ rout of the FCS Colonels. (Addison didn’t show up for a postgame interview).
Oregon wide receiver Charles Nelson (6) is brought down by Utah…
It was a very similar play to the one that the St. Louis Rams ran – finding similar results – last National Football League season.
Oregon managed only 400 yards offense. Defensive end Pita Taumoepenu had two of Utah’s five sacks. Oregon’s opponents are averaging 40.8 points through the first four games, and the Ducks have allowed 301.5 passing yards per game.
Oregon had 10 penalties for 90 yards. “We’ve got to fix it”.
Easier said than done? This is not Oregon, obviously, which lost Marcus Mariota.
“That remains to be seen”, Helfrich said of whether Oregon bounces back.

A routine punt and fair catch appeared to kick start another Utes drive. Sooner or later, it’s going to come back to bite them.
