All the cakes entered in the bake-off will be tasted by the team at The Chequers including head chef Ray Brenner, before a prize is awarded to the best.

Today people across the United Kingdom are holding a coffee morning and bake sale to raise money for charity.

It is the 25th World’s Biggest Coffee Morning today, and to celebrate, we dug some old pictures out of the archive.

The company has a special relationship with Macmillan Cancer Support and has raised more than £217,000 for the charity since 2009.

Macmillan in Wales general manager Susan Morris, Macmillan in Wales general manager, told the Argus said: “We really appreciate Hallam, Bradley and James giving up their time to support Macmillan”.

“We wanted to say thank you to all the support Macmillan gave Grandad Joe and are continuing to give to Nanna Joan after he sadly passed away a few weeks ago”, said Karina. Cancer unfortunately affects most families in one way or another. “They were and are an incredible support”.

“We will be continuing to raise funds until the end of September, so if you didn’t make it along to our coffee morning event on Friday, there is still an opportunity to pop in and treat yourself to a coffee and cake to help towards our final fundraising total”.
