Sepot was with students from the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity Sunday afternoon – the group was returning from Philadelphia for a student-run philanthropy named THON where the students collected donations, according to the web post.

UPDATE (5:05 p.m.): Spokeswoman Lisa Powers confirmed that one female was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead when police arrived at the scene. It happened along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Chester County.

The six students injured in the accident were transported to Paoli Hospital in Paoli, Pennsylvania, Penn State officials said.

“We are terribly saddened by this accident and our hearts are with the friends and family of Tally as well as other students who were involved in the accident”, THON’s Katie Mailey said in a statement.

The six other students involved in the accident were Victoria Barrett, 18, Sarah Bixby, 18, Claire Fountas, 19, Matthew Hrynkow, 20, Brooke Kalodner, 18, and Max Titlebaum, 20.

Pennsylvania State Police have not released any information on the cause of the crash but say it is under investigation.

Several weekends a year are designated as “canning” weekends, where students solicit donations in communities across the region. Since 1977, Thon has raised more than $127 million for families of pediatric cancer patients and research.
