Congressman Bags Pope Francis Relic

As the Philadelphia Daily News reports, Representative Bob Brady moved toward the chamber’s podium, where he “delicately picked up Papa Francisco’s glass”, transporting it back to his office.

A Catholic American politician was so overcome at seeing Pope Francis that he swiped the glass of water the pontiff had been drinking from.

Brady helping his wife take a sip from the Pope’s glass. Which he did by stealing the glass of water that his holiness drank from during his address.

That was only after he took a drink of the glass of water himself though.

The congressman stated he additionally invited fellow Catholic and Democrat D.J. Sen. Brady’s wife and mother apparently also took part in that practice.

His wife and two of his co-workers also drank from the divine cup.

Guarding the scarce resource, Brady poured the rest of the fluid – water plus papal backwash – into a water bottle, with plans to bless his four grandchildren and 1-year-old great-granddaughter.

“Anything the pope touches becomes blessed”, he told the newspaper.

The venerated vessel will be kept in a brown paper bag until Brady gets a chance to go to the police in Philadelphia and get it dusted for fingerprints to prove its authenticity. He might want to irrigate his lawn and make that “holy” too. He did the same thing after President Obama’s first inaugural address.
