Derek Carr Looks Ready To Lead Oakland Raiders Back To Respectability
After so many forgettable seasons, Carr looked like the leader the Raiders have been lacking since the days of Rich Gannon.

“We are going to have to deal with it and work from this position that we’re in and improve and find a way to win some football games”.
“They really wanted to make sure that the game didn’t get disrupted by our two outside guys, so they spent a lot of time with doubles and chips and things”. But they are learning what it takes to get there at some point in the future, including a stirring comeback drive by Carr and the offensive unit for the winning touchdown with 26 seconds remaining. Receivers broke free most of the day, with Baltimore racking up 17 first downs through the air.
Week 2 in the National Football League brought some great performances that provided great financial value for their teams.
“He’s very poised, can make all the throws, good on his feet”, Browns coach Mike Pettine said. It’s a new challenge for us. They were expected to take a big step forward in their rebuilding process, but that didn’t happen last week.
“We got outplayed and outcoached. We’re never going to have a flawless game, but we’re going to strive for it”. “Don’t act surprised. This is something that we’ve worked our butts off all offseason to do, so once we start playing well and start having success, don’t act surprised by it. We have to stay tight-knit”. Derek Carr had a strong game against the Ravens and with a weak defense coming up in Week 3, he is worth looking at for fantasy owners as well.
Outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil started in place of Suggs but was relatively quiet for much of the game.
It’s one of the big reasons Woodson felt compelled to play when his body was telling him not to. Rookie Za’Darius Smith and veteran Albert McClellan are getting additional reps.
After all, this was a Ravens team that had made Peyton Manning look positively pedestrian and the Denver Broncos look absolutely average. It gave us a shot of life.
We’ve hypothesized Webb’s departure plenty around here, but he looks lost and physically outmatched on almost every play. “We just have to get back, correct our mistakes and get back to the drawing board; get ready for Cincinnati”.
The Ravens made a move to enhance the pass defense Monday by acquiring cornerback Will Davis from Miami for a seventh-round draft pick. The weather was so hot at O.co Coliseum – with the temperature approaching 95 degrees as the afternoon progressed – that some players needed IV treatments throughout the game to replenish their bodily fluids.
“They [Raiders] had us off balance the whole game”, Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh said.
But that’s the storyline of most teams in the NFL.
“I love to see the productivity of the offense”. Not a happy team on the road.
“We did a good job preparing for that test, and I thought we executed well as a front”, Howard said.
PASSING OFFENSE: B – Quarterback Joe Flacco completed 32-of-45 passes for 384 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Ravens wide out Kamar Aiken caught 5 passes for 89 yards. This also hindered the defense, which was on the field for long stretches.

Joe Flacco couldn’t connect with a wide-open Steve Smith Sr.in the end zone after a late interception by Carr. Carr’s first touchdown throw was a 68-yard bomb to Cooper, and his second was a 29-yard pass to Crabtree. It was the first time he reached those numbers in 10 years and just the third time a player 36 or older had at least 10 catches, 150 yards and a score in a single game. The Raiders have been banged up in the secondary and now have added some depth. There were also several missed tackles. Amari Cooper surrendered two early drops on makable chances, but his 68 yard catch and run erased those sins and put the Silver and Black on the board. Sam Koch had two punts for 92 yards.
