Drones and surveillance cameras share the spotlight in this peek into The X-Files revival, revealing a world where privacy isn’t as secure as it was when The X-Files first introduced us to Mulder’s obsession.

During its initial nine-season run, “The X Files” became one of the most successful television dramas of all time, hitting a peak ratings high in 1997 when more than 27 million people tuned in to the Season 5 premiere.

It will be harder for Mulder and Scully to work under the radar as they have done so often in the past, when their image is recorded at the entrance of every building on every street corner.

Beyond that… Consider Indiewire, as much as humanly possible, safe from spoilers, because the excitement of what surprises await us (good and bad) have us proceeding cautiously when it comes to news about the revival. But even more importantly, there’s the glimpse of a cigarette followed by, “We have a small problem”. See the X-Files revival trailer below in two parts.

In the second half (above), Scully warns Mulder, “You are on unsafe ground here”. I know. It really is the ideal show.

For now, plot details are still being kept a secret and rumours continue to do the rounds about some familiar X-Files cast members (Snnabeth Gish and Robert Patrick’s Monica Reyes and John Doggett for example) also making a return. WALTER SKINNER, Mulder and Scully’s boss, who walks a fine line between loyalty to these investigators and accountability to his superiors.
