Sophomore running back Nick Chubb finished the game with 131 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 15 carries. The 131-yard day put him over 100 yards for the 12th consecutive game, tying a mark held by Georgia great Herschel Walker. Greyson Lambert completed 24 of 25 passes for 330 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs.
“We already know how the media and fans are going to hype this up”, Georgia wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell said.
“Right after he scored the (49-yard) TD, I told him congrats”, Theus said. The way to prevent Chubb from hitting the century mark would be to stack the tackle box with 9 or 10 guys on every play.
“But we have to be focused on what’s going on at the Butts-Mehre building”.
Walker’s streak of 13 straight 100-yard games started in 1980 and carried into the 1981 season.
Georgia players swore to anyone who would listen that they wouldn’t overlook FCS foe Southern University to peek ahead to next Saturday’s ballyhooed SEC showdown against Alabama.
After heading to the locker rooms at halftime up 20-6, the Bulldogs came out pounding the ball in the second-half.
The wives and other family members of Georgia coaches were also planning to help out.
September 28th, 2015| by Employees Georgia has admirably come to the assist of Southern WR Devon Gales, who was hospitalized with a spinal injury against the Bulldogs on Saturday. After receiving medical attention on the field for several minutes, he was immobilized, placed on a stretcher and carted off the field. It went on to say that Gales “remains in good spirits and will remain at Athens Regional until he is released to return to Baton Rouge for further treatment”. Toledo plays Arkansas State later Saturday.
“It came down to winning one on one”. “We have so much to get better on and it’s a task we take very seriously”.
The game may have been lost by Southern, but you can clearly call the trip a win for them and in particular, the marching band. The halftime speech that the Bulldogs received lit a fire under the offensive line and Chubb rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown on the first drive of the second half.
