11-month-old among 5 shot near 53rd, Aberdeen in Back of the Yards
An 11-month-old baby was in stable condition Monday night after being hit by gunfire along with four others on Chicago’s South Side, police said. He said the women killed were the mother and grandmother of the wounded infant.

WGN is reporting several ambulances were dispatched to the shooting scene in the “Back of the Yards” neighborhood.
The two women were pronounced dead at the hospital.
Two women, a 46-year-old with a leg gunshot wound and a 43-year-old shot on her right side, were taken to Stroger, police said.
“That action speaks for itself”, the police official said.
The baby was expected to recover.
Guglielmi says two men wounded in the shooting were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in grave condition.

Deputy Chief Eugene Roy says the “innocent” group was returning from a family outing late Monday when the shooting occurred.
