Mourinho: ‘Why is Wenger never under pressure’

‘In this country, only one manager is not under pressure, ‘ said Mourinho.

Mourinho was asked about the pressure now on Newcastle Manager Steve McClaren, who doesn’t have a win since he became boss this past summer.

Mourino who has been in a long running with Wenger feud had earlier in the press conference, claimed that the Arsenal manager can “cry” all the time about referees while he cannot speak out for fear of reprisal.

“Steve is under pressure, I’m under pressure, Brendan (Rodgers, the Liverpool boss) is under pressure, (Manchester City’s Manuel) Pellegrini is under pressure”. I am in the list of the ones that can not.

Wenger was then asked about his own pursuit of Martial and he revealed he had been told by Monaco that neither Martial nor full-back Layvin Kurzawa would be leaving the club.

“Just one out of 20″, he added.

Mourinho refused to name the Arsenal manager but made it clear that he considered Wenger to be judged by a different set of rules to others in the profession. He [Wenger] cannot achieve but can keep his job, still be the king. “It’s a privilege”.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has admitted that his side are lucky that Gabriel Paulista has been handed one match ban following his defender’s FA charge of improper conduct.

“And I am in the list of managers who get punished before or after the game“.

Mourinho continued to vent his anger by suggesting he is on an “imaginary list” of bosses who are not allowed to discuss referees decisions, unlike his counterpart.

That said, the one-match ban has to be considered a win for Wenger and Arsenal. I just have a reality.

“So I think they should replay the game when it’s been shown there was an obvious refereeing mistake that decided the result”. If I push a manager in the technical area, I’m banned from the stadium.

“If I speak about players from other clubs and I ask for suspensions, I am in trouble”.

Arsenal had actually used an instance involving Chelsea from last season when stating their case over Gabriel, pointing to the fact that midfielder Nemanja Matic had a three-game suspension shortened by one after he reacted to a risky tackle from Burnley striker Ashley Barnes.

“Loic wants to play every game, he doesn’t want to play against Newcastle because it’s Newcastle“, said the Portuguese.

But speaking ahead of the game against the Magpies, Mourinho confirmed the Brazilian is available for selection and said there are no more fresh injury concerns – apart from Thibaut Courtois’s long-term absence. I am in the ones that are punished if they do. Look at the Chelsea team when he left: they all survived after. I am in a job where I sometimes have to swallow things that are not right, maybe our opponents do sometimes as well.
