Samsung Milk Video Service to Shut Down on November 20

Milk Video was created to present Galaxy owners with free video from channels like Vice, VEVO, GQ and amusing or Die, with content ranging from 1 minute to 5 minutes in length. The service worked with BuzzFeed and College Humor, but could not attract the viewers Google, Vimeo, and Twitch have won over the years.

The app was initially just available for download for select Samsung phones, but got eventually also pre-loaded on all of the company’s new flagship phones.

There’s no word on the fate of Milk Music just yet, Samsung itself hasn’t said anything which could signal that a similar fate is on the table for its Pandora-like Milk Music service as well.

This lack of polish and quick updates was one of the final nails for Milk Video.

“Thank you for using Samsung Milk Video”, says Samsung on the Google Play store. Barely a year after introducing the Milk Video service to the market, Samsung has chose to stop supporting the app starting November 20, 2015.
