Isabella Chinchilla, 16, a junior at the school, and Kylie Lindsey, 17, of Dallas, a senior, died from injuries sustained in the 11:35 p.m. crash after the Nissan in which they were passengers collided with a Georgia State Patrol patrol auto, the patrol reported.

The trooper, identified as Anthony J. Scott, was driving north on USA 27 in a 2014 Dodge Charger patrol vehicle when the Nissan turned in front of him, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

As it attempted to turn left into Holly Springs Drive, it entered the path of the patrol auto that was traveling northbound on Hwy. 1.

Police said Lindsey and Chinchilla were riding in the backseat of a Nissan Sentra as their two male friends rode in the front.

The teens were students at South Paulding High School, according to news reports.

According to the state patrol, the driver of the Nissan, 18-year-old Dillon Wall, and another passenger, 17-year-old Benjamin Finken, both of Douglasville, were treated at Grady Medical Center in Atlanta.

Lindsey was not wearing her seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle.

Two other teenagers were injured.

This crash is still under investigation by the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.

The girls’ classmates set up a memorial at the crash site.

“It’s really hard. And she was a really sweet, beautiful, very intelligent girl”, friend Chase Leonhardi said of Lindsey. It’s definitely a really big loss’.
