Apple said on Monday it had sold more than 13 million iPhone 6s and 6s Pluses during their first weekend on the market, setting a record for its marquee product.
Apple will roll out the new iPhones to more than 40 additional countries and territories on October. 9 and 10, including Italy, Mexico, Russian Federation and Spain.
Kyree is a freelance writer hoping he fits the role well. In India, the device will be officially launched on October 16th along with Malaysia and Turkey. Apple topped that with the iPhone 6S this weekend.
For its part, IHS also expected sales would do better this year in the first three days of availability and also expects Apple will ship 236 million iPhones this year, up 22 percent compared to 2014.
Among other new features, consumers appear to have been sufficiently wowed by the iPhone’s 3D Touch technology, which senses how deeply you press the display, and responds accordingly. Its design includes 7000 series aluminum and the strongest glass on any smartphone with rose gold metallic finishes.
The iPhone launched in many of Apple’s biggest markets on Friday.
Apple said sales completed by September 26 will be included in Apple’s fiscal fourth quarter results, and sales completed on Sunday, September 27 will be included in Apple’s first-quarter 2016 results.
However, this year the phones were made available in more countries at launch, most notably China being one, which helped boost the numbers.
