In Which Leonardo DiCaprio Battles A Bear
As promised yesterday with the arrival of new images, the full-length trailer for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant has arrived to screen this weekend with 20th Century Fox’s other major fall movie, The Martian (our review). Holding one of his closest friends and co-workers John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) responsible for his situation, Glass vows to trek on and bring him to justice. The final product, which uses only natural light, does looks visually arresting.

The Revenant hits theaters on Christmas Day. Tom Hardy’s John Fitzgerald would be the first man that Glass wants vengeance against for burying him and his son in the dirt after stealing all his possessions.
From the director of Birdman, it’s the story of real life hunter Hugh Glass, played here by a ferocious Leonardo DiCaprio, who survived an improbably series of unfortunate events on the trail of revenge. Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.
The opening scenes of the new trailer for The Revenant are reminiscent of The Last of the Mohicans, with a band of white animal trappers barely fending off a Native American war party.

The Alejandro G Inarritu-directed film also stars Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter.
