This true life tale of adventure and survival revolves around the experiences of explorer Hugh Glass (Di Caprio), a legendary pioneer whose hunting team strays into new, uncharted territory during one of their stints. Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleeson co-star. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as a man left for dead in the wild American West, The Revenant offers plenty of opportunities to freak us out, especially since it’s shot by Gravity cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, the man who made an entire generation afraid of space all over again.

Leonardo DiCaprio is out for blood in the first official trailer for The Revenant. “With sheer will as his only weapon”, Glass is able to survive the attack and sets out on a “quest to survive and exact vengeance on Fitzgerald”, according to the plot synopsis.

Opening in the USA this Christmas, The Revenant hits select theaters on December 25 followed by a nationwide release on January 8.
