Paquin, who portrays Rogue in the X-Men films and appeared briefly in the theatrical cut of Days of Future Past, revealed the news on Twitter.

There had been no word about Rogue’s participation in the Gambit film at all, so one intrepid fan just asked Paquin on Twitter point blank. She merely replied, “No”. In the movie, Movie Pilot reported that a few details are being kept concealed by the 20th Century Fox.
However, she may be omitted from the Gambit solo film, a rumour which was given extra fuel after Tatum didn’t dismiss the possibility in a July interview. However, Tatum is rumored to also be seen in the X-Men: Apocalypse without Paquin in it.
Rogue and Gambit have a (tumultuous) romantic relationship in the X-Men universe, though Paquin’s Rogue is involved with Ice-Man (Shawn Ashmore) in Bryan Singer’s X-Men movies. Gambit was once a thief before he joined the X-Men. However, fans have been criticizing the decision for his role in the movie.

With the exit of Rupert Wyatt as director, the deck is stacked against “Gambit” beating the odds to get released on October 7, 2016.
