According to The Tennessean, Brainard, his friend Deborah DeLoach and one other woman were crossing Demonbreun Street when a gray four-door Infinity hit DeLoach. The man and the woman in the vehicle reportedly stepped out and began yelling at the pedestrians before attacking Brainard and DeLoach.
“We couldn’t get out of the street because they kept hitting us”, DeLoach recalls.
Grammy-nominated producer Dave Brainard says his two attackers were both wearing formal clothes, as if they were going to a wedding.
A Nashville music producer and a woman were injured after they were attacked in downtown over the weekend.
At this point, the physical altercation began with the male driver repeatedly punching and then choking Brainard until he was unconscious.
DeLoach said she was initially assaulted by the female passenger, and later the driver struck and choked her as well.
According to his friend, the founder of deciBel Productions suffered a host of injuries, including a broken jaw, shattered teeth and lacerations to his chin and lip. The male was a 200-pound white man, standing 6 feet 2 inches.
Nikki is said to be 5 feet 6 inches, and in her early 30s.
During an interview with WZTV Fox 17 in Nashville, Brainard said he’s not looking for revenge. Witnesses are encouraged to call Nashville police at 615-742-7463.
