‘Deflategate’ decision appeal date set for February

The appeal of the court’s decision will be scheduled for as early as the week of February 1, 2016. The union must respond by Dec. 7, and the league’s brief in reply will be due on Dec. 21. While Brady could still be forced to serve a suspension during the 2016 season, Brady appears to be free for now.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady likely will play the entire 2015 season and postseason without the threat of being suspended for his alleged involvement in Deflategate. Brady’s attorneys and the NFLPA need to answer by December 7.

The Patriots certainly look the part of Super Bowl favorites. Brady was suspended for the first four games of the season, and the Super Bowl champions were docked $1 million and two draft picks after a league investigation found the team provided improperly inflated footballs for the AFC title game against the Indianapolis Colts in January 2015.

But the National Football League is hot for Brady and suspending him over destroying his phone when asked to turn it in.

While NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Co. attempt to undermine Brady at a deliberate pace, he’s positioned New England atop the AFC East with a 3-0 record, on course for a 12th division crown in the past 13 years. This matter was disputed all the way to federal court, where a judge ruled in Brady’s favor to overturn the suspension.
