Lady Gaga to be named Woman of the Year by Billboard
The event, which will be televised for the first time, is held in conjunction with the publication of Billboard’s Women in Music list, which selects the year’s 50 most powerful female executives in the music industry.

Billboard is holding the celebration at Cipriani Midtown in New York City on December 11, with Lifetime airing highlights on December 18.
Gaga was chosen because she has been “a key influential figure who drove the conversation” this year, said Janice Min, who oversees Billboard as co-president of parent company Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group, in a statement on Tuesday.
“We are thrilled to offer our platform to recognize her in every way she deserves”, Gateley said.
Gaga released the collaborative jazz album, “Cheek to Cheek“, with Tony Bennett a year ago. No one embodies that more than Lady Gaga in 2015.
The duo performed songs from the album on a 36-date tour. The show is scheduled to premiere on October 7 in the U.S. My gosh good morning!’ Billboard, in turn, has replied to the singer’s message and wrote that they’re “just as excited” to celebrate and honor the singer in this year’s Women in Music event.

Billboard will present her with the title at this year’s Women in Music awards, which named Taylor Swift queen in 2014 and also honored Aretha Franklin, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, Jessie J, Charli XCX and Idina Menzel.
