Amazon Prime Gets Access To Universal Music Group Artists

Both parties have made it clear that only “select albums” are coming to Prime Music, meaning there are still going to be gaps – albeit smaller ones – in Prime Music’s catalog.

It’s an important deal for Amazon’s streaming music service, available on to members of its $99-a-year Prime subscription offering.

The addition of Universal Music is more of a value play than anything, tied into Amazon’s increasingly valuable Prime service.

The service has added artists since then, but one of the glaring omission was always Universal Music artists.

That said, having solidified the last of the major music groups as a partner, current subscribers should notice a drastic increase in the amount of music they have available to them for free via Amazon Prime, even if that music isn’t the newest.

Prime Music possesses a compact rolodex of songs in contrast to Spotify and Apple Music, but by introducing a few of the most well known muscians on the earth, it’s definitely ramping in the attempt to be considered as an honest company. “From chart topping artists like Lady Gaga to legendary musicians such as Tom Petty and Nirvana, we know our Prime members will love listening to all the additional music that’s now available as part of their membership”.

Amazon today announced that Prime members in the US and United Kingdom now have free streaming access to tracks from Universal Music Group.
