“Now things are getting totally turned around, this is what he does, and this is what he does so well”.
As detailed during the session, Damon has been waiting to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for 12 years, and since he’s technically scheduled each night, he has to show up. Monday when describing the “Bourne Identity” star’s new sci-fi drama directed by Ridley Scott.
Damon first came out onstage dressed as Kimmel’s other guest for the evening, Dr. Phil McGraw, sporting a bald cap and talking in an exaggerated Southern accent, he told Kimmel the costume was part of his effort to “finally” be a guest on the comedian’s late night.
“Seriously, what are you doing here?” asked Kimmel, who was not fooled for a second. Their spat took off in 2009, however, when Kimmel’s then-girlfriend, Sarah Silverman, debuted her confessional smash single, “I’m Fucking Matt Damon”.
However, the pair still had their work cut out for them.

“He promised me over a decade ago that I was going to be able to be a guest on the show”. “Jimmy would say he’s been nice enough to give me a room where I come and I wait every night. He thinks he is the only celebrity in California”. “He talks the talk and he makes me think I’m insane”. “No…I know what I said”, Kimmel insisted. “Listen, I understand his point of view, but he has to understand my point of view”, the show host says. “Look at his face and look at his body”. Look at him, and he’s trying to be a movie star. Eh, probably not. But at least we should get another 12 years to watch the attempts.
