LG Watch Urbane 2 revealed: LTE, cellular connectivity, built-in Global Positioning System, and more
While not the first smartwatch with cellular connectivity (Samsung’s made a few already), LG’s newly announced second-generation Watch Urbane is the first Android Wear smartwatch with LTE in it. You can also receive phone calls on it, which is certainly a thing you could, if you really, really wanted, choose to do.

LG has announced the successor to the Watch Urbane, this time offering LTE and 3G connectivity.
Now LG is correcting that “mistake” by putting out the 2nd edition of the LG Watch Urbane. In fact, according to LG, this is the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. Cellular enabled features will vary across Android and iOS.
The screen is slightly larger at 1.38-inches (up from 1.3) and the resolution has similarly been bumped up to a class leading 480 x 480.
On the design front, everything looks very similar, the new Urbane is a hair smaller and thicker, features a stainless steel body and comes in four flavors for the bands: Space Black, Opal Blue, Luxe White, Signature Brown. Ambient mode can now be enabled or disabled with a simple press of the crown button. You’ll also find the usual heart-rate sensor, barometer, pedometer, gyroscope and compass.
“The wearable sector continues to evolve and we’re playing an active role in that by bringing to market various devices that appeal to various consumers”, said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

LG says that the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will launch first in the U.S. and Korea, followed by releases in Europe, CIS, Asia, and the Middle East. However, LG’s not saying exactly when the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will launch or how much it’ll cost when it does. Today, a day after Google Android hardware big event, LG unveiled the LG Watch Urbane 2 Edition, an updated version of the previous model.
