“Can you hear me now?” was his first tweet. On Twitter, Snowden describes himself by saying: “I used to work for the government”.

Since joining Twitter earlier today he has gained more than half a million followers, and has identity officially verified by the website.
Snowden came to global attention after stories based on the material appeared in The Guardian and The Washington Post.
Snowden’s second tweet was to Tyson, thanking him for the welcome. While he’s made the odd video appearance at conferences and events to discuss personal privacy and encryption, Snowden hasn’t been very reachable.
We’re not here to discuss whether Snowden’s actions were good or justified, though.
Snowden has been present on Twitter only in our thoughts, often represented by #Snowden.
He later tweeted that “Meanwhile, a thousand people are Fort Meade just opened Twitter”.
Needless to say, it’s directed towards the American Secret Services.
Edward Snowden became the worst dream of America’s NSA when he leaked a large of number of phone calls and other spying material of the agency to media worldwide.

Edward Snowden isn’t just a hashtag anymore. He proved the existence of programs that could easily bypass security protocols and hack into any server with utmost ease. It’s probably the No. 1 question surrounding his continued exile in Russian Federation and whether he’ll ever return to the United States to face investigation or prosecution for the leaks. He was extended a hand-of-friendship by Russian Federation. Russian Federation was willing to grant him asylum status after he fled the country. The Russians had granted him a three year visa which runs out soon.
