With Android 6.0 Marshmallow debuting on both the Nexus 5X as well as the Nexus 6P (not forgetting the Pixel C as well), it makes flawless sense for smartphone manufacturers to take stock of the current situation in order to ensure that their collection of smartphones, too, would jolly well be up to date as far as possible. Recently the 5.1.1 Lollipop update was certified for these devices so we knew a release was on the way.
Sony Xperia C4 is now running on Android Lollipop 5.0. Android Lollipop 5.1.1 comes with the integration of the LinkedIn app to the Calendar and Contacts apps, according to BGR.
The changelog for the Sony Xperia update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is fairly extensive and includes such things as improvements to the volume and silent mode control along with more controls over your alerts in a simplified, yet enhanced design. Over the past months the Japan-based phone maker pushed the Android 5.1 update to their devices and now it’s Xperia M2’s and M2 Aqua’s turn to get updated.

Sony issued a statement that the roll-out will come in phases and may not reach immediately. Though there has been no official confirmation but the update also seals up a major threat that haunts Android devices- Stagefright Vulnerability. This link to the Sony Xperia Blog will direct you to a list of the FTF firmware files, and they will update the list as more become available for those users that are willing to go that update path. For the less timid, it should only be a few more days before updates are completely out. Maybe you’ve already received the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for your handset? We’ll find out once the OTA update arrives.
