Ford recalls F-150 pickups to fix cruise control braking
Unfortunately, that’s not to be. If it was, customers will get a cheaper price on a replacement axle, while the axle will be replaced for free if the bracket was installed incorrectly. Ford said the problem can occur when the pickup passes a large, highly reflective truck.

The F-150’s adaptive cruise control radar can incorrectly identify the truck being passed as being in the F-150’s lane of travel.
A few Ford F-150’s could hit the brakes when they’re not supposed to, possibly causing an accident, the manufacturer said Wednesday.
The Windstar recall covers vans from the 1998 through 2003 model years and relates to a previous recall for rear axle cracking from 2010.
There are a total of approximately 340,000 (actual 342,271) vehicles originally produced that might be affected in North America.
The cars have already been repaired once due to axle cracks that could grow and lead to complete failures and crashes. Ford said it is aware of one accident possibly attributable to this issue, but no reported injuries. Dealers will tighten the appropriate bolt to fix the issue.
2015 Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS sedans and a few 2016 Ford Explorers with fuel tank attachment bolts that might not have been tightened properly.
Ford is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fires associated with this issue.
Affected vehicles were built at Chicago Assembly Plant on July 24, 2015. Go to Cars.com Service & fix to find your local dealer. The bracket may have been improperly manufactured, and could allow the vehicle to be shifted in to reverse without the driver applying the brakes. The other four affect fewer than 1,500 vehicles each.
Dealers will inspect the vans, and if the brackets werent installed right, replace the axles.

Finally, 700 brand-new 2016 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles are also coming back in for a fuel tank issue. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a fire. There are 658 vehicles in the United States and federalized territories, 28 in Canada and 22 in Mexico. A new fuel tank will be provided for these customers.
