According to Gizmodo, Nexus 5X is not exactly a clone but more of a new generation of the Nexus 5.

However, the two devices also share a few common features, such as a USB Type-C port, fast-charging technology, a 12.3-megapixel main camera with large pixels for low-light performance and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are already available for pre-order via Google Play Store, but they will ship in late October. In India, the LG Nexus 5X is priced at Rs 31,900 for the 16GB variant, while the prices for the Huawei Nexus 6P start from Rs 39,999 onwards for 32GB.

Besides the “coincidence” that the new products were announced parallel to Apple’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6 Plus launch, Google will bank on the year-end holiday shopping season, for sales.

Google confirmed a new version of their popular Nexus 5 – the Nexus 5X, which again will be made by LG. The “C” in the device’s name stands for ‘convertible.’ The tablet hybrid is being marketed by Google as a premium device, just like the Chromebook Pixel.

The best colour is gold – but sadly you can’t have this version as it’s a Japan only exclusive for the Nexus 6P.

There is also a new Chromecast audio, for fans who want to stream music from mobile devices to a conventional speaker. The Nexus 5X sports a 5.2-inch fullHD display, 2GB of RAM and is powered by the Snapdragon 808, while the Nexus 6P comes with a 5.7-inch QHD panel, 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 810 processor.

The component also works with several phone sensors such as the fingerprint reader, gyroscope, and accelerometer-allowing the Sensor Hub to read and interpret gestures, activities, and more. The 32GB model will be priced slightly higher at $429 or $17.88 a month for the next 24-months.
