Nuggets add F Miller

Miller, 35, agreed to a contract buyout with the Trail Blazers earlier this week after he was traded to Portland in July by the Cavaliers.

The Nuggets signed guard Mike Miller to a one-year deal after the veteran cleared waivers on Wednesday, according to a league source.

Last season, Miller signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers reuniting with former Miami Heat teammate LeBron James, with whom he won two National Basketball Association (NBA) championships during their stint for the franchise in South Beach.

Miller averaged 11.3 points per game over his career and hit 41 percent from behind the arc.

Miller’s other National Basketball Association stops include Memphis, Washington, Minnesota and Orlando.

In three seasons with the Heat, Miller was part of the team that won back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013. “I think we have a unique mix of really young guys, middle-age guys entering their prime, and we’re always looking to be optimistic and aggressive where can identify whether it’s a young guy or a veteran who can make us better”.

Although Miller might not be expected to see a huge chunk of minutes, his sharpshooting talent can still provide a team with a boost. The Nuggets also have a considerable amount of wing depth with Gary Harris, Randy Foye, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Will Barton. Even if he doesn’t offer much on the court, he could be a good veteran presence in the locker room. Why would the Nuggets want to add another veteran?
