Microsoft never has occupied a New York City address with one of its retail stores, lacking a presence in the city since 2012 when it opened a temporary pop-up kiosk for the holidays.

The five-floor, 22,269 square foot location will be a premier venue to learn about, experience and shop for the products and services from Microsoft and our partners.

The Sydney location is Microsoft’s first full store outside North America. Sources acquainted with Microsoft’s arrangements tell The Verge that these gadgets will all be accessible to attempt in Microsoft’s lead New York City store on opening day. Microsoft officially confirmed its lease on the pricey location at 677 Fifth in September 2014. Whether a part or the entire story was wrong is unknown at this time.

Not long after, its first worldwide flagship location will open at Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall. “When we architected our retail plans, we committed to providing exceptional choice, value and service, and making a positive impact on the communities in which we operate”, Microsoft said.

Like the Apple store’s Genius Bar of live technicians on hand to help consumers with whatever issues they’re having with their devices, Microsoft’s Manhattan flagship store will have what it calls its Answer Desk to do much of the same.

The vendor’s Sydney flagship store is a few 6,000 square feet and spans two floors. The store includes retail sales space as well as an interactive area to serve local customers and business, with staff originating from more than 11 countries and speaking more than 21 languages. Over the past several months Microsoft's first flagship store on Fifth Ave. and 53rd St. has transformed into a cutting edge space
