Even with a losing record (1-2) through three weeks of the 2015 National Football League season, the Bucs are undefeated in the NFC South by virtue of their week 2 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Whether he plays or not, though, the Bucs will still have their hands full against the Panthers stingy defense.

Much like last year’s Bucs, the Panthers went 2-14 in 2010 to earn the right to draft Cam Newton, who would go 6-10 as a rookie then lead them to a division title and a 12-4 record in his third season.

However, beyond that, the team also immediately increases local television demand (and revenue) by playing more games away from home while at the same time increasing demand and average attendance for the six remaining home games. Bucs OC Dirk Koetter knows his offense will have to play a whole lot better to have success. Carolina just traded for Jared Allen on Tuesday as well in attempt to strengthen the defense, which is giving up just 16 points per game thus far and holding opponents to 75.7 rushing yards per contest.

Newton has been happy to pass along advice to Winston, but he also said there are things he can understand only by experiencing them himself – such as making the transition from winning almost all the time in college to dealing with losses in the NFL. With tight alternatives in the arriving gaming, Newton has the pique on his back through the team’s 3-0…

James has rushed 79 times for 332 yards during his pro career. If Newton does escape the pocket, sound tackling will be key to limiting the damage he can do on the ground.
