Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker said he expects to be on the court Tuesday when training camp opens, Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Parker was averaging 12.3 points and 5.5 rebounds when he tore his left ACL on December 15. But if that plan includes Parker practicing for three hours as if he were anyone else, they must not be too concerned about his knee.

Parker went the entire practice, coach Jason Kidd said. It gives me something to build off, a chance to get a few confidence.

Parker and the team are proceeding cautiously.

“Hopefully, it tells you something about where we’re at today and the interest in our team”, Bucks general manager John Hammond said. Also in attendance was Rod Thorn, a veteran National Basketball Association executive who was hired this week as a consultant. Parker, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 draft, has that kind of ability, which is why his future and the Bucks’ future are so intertwined. In Kidd’s words, Parker turned a negative into a positive by using his rehab to add strength and size so he could hold his ground against power forwards. And I think his teammates were very pleased to see him out on the floor and things he can do.

Being back in the Kohl Center with the Bucks for training camp didn’t feel like home for former Badger Marcus Landry, “it is home”, he said.

“Just trying to bring guys together even more”, said Greg Monroe, the Bucks’ big addition in free agency. If Parker is healthy again holding him back now would only hinder him.
