To kick off Saturday’s grand opening, Chick-Fil-A is hosting a “First 100” celebration. The fast-food spot will open on October 3rd at its massive three-level location on 37th Street and 6th Avenue.
Chick-Fil-A is offering 100 dedicated customers a year’s worth of free food to celebrate their newest Manhattan location.
The First 100 Campout will give 100 people the opportunity to win free Chick-fil-A for a year (52 meals), according to a release. Only those above the age of 18 are eligible for the free food and they must have their ID with them. Edelman also represented Chick-fil-A in its relocation to Boardman-Poland Road in Boardman, Ohio. The company has given away more than $25 million as part of these opening events. But a few brand fans have been nervous about the company’s plans to open in equally liberal New York just a couple of years after nationwide controversy over the founding family’s embrace of traditional values, which notably included opposition to gay marriage.
The giveaway officially starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, allowing customers to start lining up for the grand opening at 6 a.m., on Saturday. The 100 people selected will receive a camping chair and a blanket for their late-night stay. Pro-LGBT forces and Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy have since found a few common ground.
