Economic corridor will benefit whole region: army chief

Stressing that “our environment and context needs to be understood”, he said, “We want to finish terrorists and their nurseries”, adding, “We expect from the global community to play its part for the regional peace”.

“Practical steps are required to manage the Pak-Afghan border for the gainful conclusion of Operation Zarb-e-Azb”, he was quoted by the London-based The Nation, as saying while addressing the South Asia Security Conference at the Marshal Centre in Munich, Germany.

He said that Pakistan’s anti-terror offensive, Operation Zarb-i-Azb, has had a positive effect on the country’s security situation and will ultimately rid it of terrorism.
