Dele Alli will take England call-up ‘in his stride’, insists Karl
Tottenham starlet Dele Alli admits that he was left speechless after being called up by manager Roy Hodgson for England’s next global fixtures.

Alli, described by Hodgson as “a very exciting talent”, was playing League One football last season, but with Jack Wilshere and Jordan Henderson injured, the teenager could find himself representing his country over the next couple of weeks.
Sturridge netted twice against Aston Villa on September 26, his first Premier League goals since March after long-term injury problems, and he looked to have played his way into consideration for worldwide selection.
Despite his early-season form, Pochettino was of the opinion, contrary to Roy Hodgson, it seems, that Alli should not have been called up to the senior squad so soon.
The Everton defender is joined by Manchester United centre-back Phil Jones, who has recovered from a blood clot in his calf.
He netted 22 times for the club, and scored his first goal for Tottenham in the 1-1 draw at Leicester in August.
“I am happy for us and the team too”, Pochettino, whose side return to Premier League action at Swansea this weekend, said. Who knows where he will end up?
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said he could not manage both England games.
Hodgson added: “We have been impressed with what we have seen of Alli”.
The games against Estonia and Lithuania will be the Three Lions’ last competitive games before the tournament takes place next summer. They have lit a fire in a player who is already a powder keg and now we get to enjoy the inevitable explosion.
“I think I have quite a good basis and track record of giving these players a chance and not being let down by them”, Hodgson said.

Lamela’s impressive display is undoubtedly one of those, with the attacking midfielder now showing his indubitable talent on a consistent basis. We constantly see him directing traffic in midfield, dictating positions to players with significantly more experience.
