Rashad Evans is gunning for victory after a two-year UFC absence

But that’s not it.

The decade-long wrestling rivalry of Johny Hendricks and Tyron Woodley culminates at UFC 192’s co-main event. We’ll see when the UFC clears him.

Jones, who pled guilty to a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident in Albuquerque, New Mexico, received 18 months and community service.

“I love fighting in Houston”, he said. Here are the keys to victory for Ryan Bader at UFC 192.

Much like calculus, MMA math is useless in the real world.

After having nearly identical picks for last weekend’s show in Japan, there are a few more fights where we differ here, which is understandable as this is a tremendously deep and competitive card.

The former light-heavyweight champion has been on the sidelines since his first round defeat of Chael Sonnen in November 2013 after two knee operations.

On Saturday, the former title challenger finds himself on the cusp of UFC gold once again, when he meets Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 192 in Houston, Texas.

Although the UFC belt isn’t officially in Jones’ possession, the reality is UFC 192’s athletes are simply jockeying for second best, with Cormier and Gustafsson fighting for the right to be a stopgap champion. I’ve been training with the best guys out there when it comes to the wrestling part.

Ruslan Magomedov has quietly worked himself into position to jump into the UFC rankings in Houston with a win over Jordan. Cormier actually beat Johnson to win the vacant title in May by third-round submission. He wore down Nelson en route to an easy unanimous decision. Jones was scheduled to face Anthony Johnson in May before the alleged hit-and-run incident. His defense isn’t spotless, but he has got a cannon of his own (a straight left) that Woodley has to respect.

It has now been two years since Gustafsson fought Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title at UFC 165. Jon is not getting off scot-free. “I’m waiting for you”.

If this had occurred as “DC” was climbing the ranks and while Gustafsson was still fresh off his instant classic with Jon Jones, this would have been a fight that lit up social media with anticipation. In January, the 36-year-old two-time Olympic freestyle wrestler lost a lopsided decision in a challenge for what was then Jones’s belt.

Your surprise knockout loss in front of a hometown crowd in Stockholm to Anthony Johnson must have been devastating. Eye is 1-2-1 in the UFC, but did have a big win over Sarah Kaufman even though a failed drug test resulted in the fight being ruled a no contest. Still, the image that continues to run through my mind is that of Gustafsson in his first minute against Johnson, boxing smoothly, sticking and moving and keeping the shorter fighter at bay.

For Gustafsson, he’s simply happy to be back at the doorstep of the championship. The point, Landsberg says, is that the upcoming interview may seem confrontational, but that’s kind of Landsberg’s schtick and he has to stick with it, and Cormier should not take it personally. “That’s the fight everybody wants to see”.

“I would be lying if I didn’t say that there was a time when I was doubting if I could come back”.

All want to know if Cormier believes Jones deserves an immediate title shot when (or if) he returns from suspension.

Both are talented fighters – they just haven’t proven capable of matching Jones’ unique ability, and are now being given a glimpse of life without the division’s top competitor.

“But as I said, I will continue to pressure him, I will continue to drag him under the water and eventually he will start to give up those takedowns and he will start to realize he’s in over his head”. While I think Gustafsson is a strong striker who uses range and distance to his advantage, I have a feeling Cormier will pull out another dominant victory that will set up follow-up appointment with Jones in the near future.

“Everyone wants this fight”. It’s just about DC for me right now and he’s the champion of the world in our division.
